The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) entered into a Consent Decree (CD) with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) on June 6, 2013 regarding compliance with the Clean Water Act. The CD has a duration of 15 years and includes requirements related to 81 new Capital Projects with a total cost of $1.95B, Capacity Management, Operation and Maintenance programs, Wastewater System Hydraulic Modeling, among others.
This presentation will focus on the evolution and execution of the CD Program, the status of the CD Capital Projects, the challenges faced and major accomplishments. It will also present the added value of the CD Program such as, Regulatory Compliance and Safety, Technology Upgrades, Resiliency, Economic Development, Quality of Service and Reliability. Key projects at MDWASD's wastewater treatment plants, wastewater pump stations and force mains will be showcased.

All reserved parking spaces are assigned to designated staff 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Any vehicles found in violation may be towed and/or booted and employees may be subject to the progressive disciplinary process.
