11/7/2025 | Tampa Bay Watch is recruiting volunteers to build a living shoreline through the installation of a series of oyster shell bars at MacDill Air Force Base. The shell bag installation involves shoveling fossilized and/or recycled shell into mesh bags and transporting them via dollies, trailers, and boats to be installed on the shoreline to create an oyster reef. The goal of the project is to restore lost habitat systems to the bay, prevent further erosion of the shoreline and improve water quality through natural biological filtration. 11/8/2025 | Join FWEA CFC, FSAWWA Region III, ASCE Space Coast and other supporting organizations for a beach cleanup on the Space Coast to help protect our beautiful coastline! We'll spend the day picking up trash and debris to ensure a local beach stays clean and safe for visitors. Supplies like gloves and trash bags will be provided. This event is a great way to give back to the community while enjoying the outdoors and networking with the next generation of water and wastewater professionals. Following the cleanup we will have various tailgate-style games, barbecued food, and non-alcoholic beverages so feel free to bring family and friends! This beach cleanup is dedicated in honor of Amber Balester, one of FWEA SYPC and CFC's most trusted and active member. We will take a few moments at the beginning of this event to remember her legacy. more info... |
