Environmental Stewardship Award For Odor Control
The mission of the FWEA Air Quality Committee is to develop and conduct educational programs related to air quality control within Florida's wastewater field. Over the years the committee has worked to achieve this by conducting annual workshops on air quality and odor control throughout the State of Florida.
The FWEA began awarding an annual Environmental Stewardship Award for Odor Control at the 2015 Florida Water Resources Conference.
The utility receiving this award shall demonstrate good environmental stewardship to the public within their community as a result of an exceptional odor control project or program.
Selection Criteria - Please submit a detailed application / report with supporting data, photos etc. that is inclusive of information in the following areas:
1.) Demonstrate a comprehensive strategy that led to the development of the odor control program or project.
2.) Summarize how this program or project positioned the utility as a good environmental steward within the community and other stakeholders.
3.) Summarize how this program or project addressed stakeholder concerns beyond odor control. i.e., aesthetics, noise etc.
4.) Summarize how this program or project positioned the utility as a good steward of financial and personnel resources.
5.) Program or project shall have been implemented or operational for a minimum of one year. Provide date of implementation or start up.
6.) Provide applicable supporting data. i.e. pre- and post- inlet pollutant levels and outlet pollutant levels. i.e. pre- and post- treatment stakeholder feedback.
Eligibility:
1.) Applicant must be a public or private utility within the State of Florida
2.) Project shall have been implemented for a minimum of one year.
3.) Prior recipients of this award must wait a minimum of two years before being eligible again.
