FWEA GOLDEN MANHOLE AWARD SOCIETY
NOMINATIONS CRITERIA AND INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Nominations for this award will be posted on the FWEA website: www.fwea.org
2. Nominators must use the accompanying nomination form.
3. All nomination forms must be complete and submitted with all attachments.
4. A maximum of two (2) nominees will be inducted into the society each year.
REQUIREMENTS: The nominee must be a member of FWEA and exhibit significant participation in the following areas: Operations, Maintenance, Education, Training, Certification, Design, Management, and Planning of Sewer Collection Systems.
EVALUATION CRITERIA:
1. Induction will be decided by previous Golden Manhole Award recipients “The Golden Manhole Society”. The society will use the following criteria, in the order listed, to select a nominee as a recipient of the award and inductee into the Society.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience and significant participation in one or more of the areas listed in the above section titled REQUIREMENTS.
3. Minimum served 4 years in the Collection Systems Committee or 6 years in a directly related collections system position.
4. Involvement in promoting the professional recognition of the collection system field.
5. Participation in training & education activities for system improvements & obtaining licensure.
6. Membership in FWEA and/or WEF.
7. Endorsement by a supervisor, peer, or others knowledgeable of the nominee’s qualifications.
8. Participation in the FWEA and its collection system committee.
9. Awards/Recognition – Papers published, technical presentations at professional conferences, honors received within & outside the organization, and contributions to the awards won by the collection system.
10. Provide references (maximum of 3) knowledgeable of nominee’s qualifications.
