Conference Announcement and Call for Abstracts

Conference Dates: March 8-10, 2027

Location: Doubletree by Hilton Theme Park Resort; Orlando, Florida

Abstract Submittal Deadline: July 15, 2026

The Florida Water Environment Association, in cooperation with the Water Environment Federation Air Quality and Odor Control Community, is pleased to announce the 2027 Air Quality and Odor Control Specialty Conference. This conference will bring together environmental professionals from around the world for a showcase on odor and air pollutants management.

The conference is designed to educate practitioners, facility owners, operators, researchers, and public administrators about current odor issues, foster informed decision-making, and provide networking opportunities to share effective strategies and innovative approaches for control of odors and air pollutants.

The conference's technical program includes both real-life experiences and lessons learned as well as cutting-edge technologies and research. The conference will include oral presentations, interactive discussions, exhibits, and opportunities for networking in dynamic settings.

Potential speakers are invited to submit an abstract for a podium presentation (30 min.) or a full session (150 min.). Abstracts are encouraged from utilities, consultants, academia, and manufacturers.

Requested Abstract Topics

  • Community Relations and Odor Complaints
  • Odor/Air Research and Optimization

Abstract Review and Submission Requirements

Abstracts will be evaluated on originality, project status, technical merit, significance to the industry, and overall quality. Abstracts should be a maximum of two pages in length, including tables and figures.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted via the online system at FWEA Air Quality Conference 2027 Abstract Submission no later than close of business on July 15, 2026.

Selected authors will be notified in mid-September and will need to complete a final manuscript. Presenters are expected to register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. No travel or assistance funds are available for speakers.

Conference registration will open in the fall of 2026.
